Bite-sized, evidence-informed learning that turns empathy into everyday practice—for safer, kinder care.
The Kindness in Action Program aims to inspire and equip all staff, whatever their role, to explore, understand and practice what kindness can look like in their work context, the difference it makes to care outcomes and workplace wellbeing, and how they might participate in embedding a culture of kindness in every facet of the delivery of care and collegiate relations.
The program harnesses and celebrates existing skills and values of staff. Through this unique, respectful and collaborative approach, it shares and generates simple, practical, achievable best practice examples and stories. This results in changes that transform workplace culture, making healthcare safer and kinder for everyone involved.
The program is run in two different formats:
This program provides a practical, achievable toolkit to support leaders to prioritise mentally healthy workplaces and meet their legal responsibility to prevent psychosocial harm.
The Kindness in Action Program (Teams) aims to facilitate team or collegiate discussions around specific topics and encourage the development of context-specific actions that enhance workplace culture. It aims to enhance respectful and thoughtful communication through reflective practice and action learning, to enhance quality and safety for patients and staff alike. It focuses on driving sustainable change by sharing best practice stories and examples, simple insights, practical actions and encouraging open dialogue and shared power and responsibility.
Through its flexible design, the program will integrate seamlessly with your existing organisational initiatives, not creating additional work for staff. Teams can choose content and discussion prompts.
The program keeps kindness and other person-centred values and behaviours front and centre in people’s minds on a regular basis over time, and provides a structured approach to embedding meaningful dialogue, awareness and learning and practical action to support long term cultural improvement.
Organisations prioritising kindness see up to 38% lower turnover and 26% fewer sick days.
The Kindness in Action Program (Individual) is a professional development program for individuals looking to transform healthcare with kindness. In this program you will deepen your knowledge of kindness and what it means to be kind in your professional work and workplace, and the deep implications of these actions on yourself and those around you – patients, their families and colleagues alike.
The learning is designed to be undertaken alongside and within busy schedules. Our modules are self-paced, with clear pause-points to ensure that you can integrate into your day, and take the time to digest, reflect on and apply your learning along the way.
