The Hush Foundation is dedicated to building, nurturing, and embedding a culture of kindness throughout the healthcare system – for the benefit of patients, families, and staff alike.
For more than two decades, we’ve pioneered the use of creative tools. From music for wellbeing, to theatre for education, to literature and storytelling, alongside hosting events and conversations that ignite kindness and reframe the way we care.
This is a movement for everyone. We call those who support it Kindness Champions. Anyone can be a Kindness Champion. Whether you’re a healthcare provider or consumer, a team, an organisation, or an individual wanting to celebrate and support your local service. You might host an event, champion your workplace, or simply bake for friends, family, or colleagues. Every act of kindness helps amplify the impact of Hush, and we thank you for supporting kindness.

The #KindnessWorksHere tag isn’t just for the Gathering of Kindness – it’s a message that showcases the power of kindness all year round. It represents a movement that subscribing partners proudly adopt to demonstrate their role as pioneers of kindness in healthcare and beyond.
During the Gathering of Kindness, many organisations choose to highlight their commitment by hosting their own accompanying events, using the hashtag to celebrate and amplify the impact of kindness in their workplaces and communities.
The Hush Foundation has run an annual Gathering of Kindness event since 2016, designed to bring all the voices in healthcare together to learn more about the art, science and practice of person-centred values in action
