A Global Online Event | November 9-13, 2026
For ten years, the Gathering of Kindness has shown that great care can be cultivated. It can be built into how a team works, measured to show it’s making a difference, and taught so it grows. That makes it not just inspiring, but achievable.
Burnout, staffing shortages and rebuilding trust are top of mind in every care environment right now. People don’t want another poster telling them to smile. They want to see change.
Leaders shape culture, but anyone can make a difference, whatever their title, budget or seat at the table. This Kindness Week, use what you already know to create positive change around you. Every step, small or large, helps build a kinder environment for you, your colleagues and those in your care.
This year’s event gives you something to do: an activity to complete, a promise to make out loud, and a date to check back in.
We won’t solve everything in one week, and some changes will be small. But like ripples in a pond, they start in one place and spread over time — and we can all help create them.
The Gathering this year is a little different. Drawing on ten years of research, real stories and lived experience, the program focuses on driving change at the local level – within your own workplace, and aims to inspire tangible outcomes.
Each day of Kindness Week features a one-hour activity that pairs short inspirational videos with hands-on exercises, inviting teams to draw on their own knowledge and collaborate on solutions that fit their own workplace.
This year, subscribing organisations can run sessions whenever suits their teams; materials will be available ahead of each day, with no set session times to work around.
Our speakers may not share your professional background, but their messages apply to anyone in a caring role, including aged care workers, doctors, nurses, allied health professionals and the administrators who support them. We’ve chosen the content to spark ideas you can shape into solutions for your own organisation.

This year’s event is about taking action to create change in your organisation. The program brings together years of research and real stories with your own knowledge and experience, giving you a solid foundation of information and ideas to draw on to help make your organisation a safer, kinder place.
Real change happens when we work together. Bring your team along to share ideas, discuss challenges and shape solutions that fit your own workplace — because the issues we face in care are rarely solved alone, and the wins are bigger when we tackle them as one. With materials available ahead of each day and no set session times, your team can collaborate whenever suits them best.
Join online and create your own Gathering of Kindness wherever you are, whoever you are - for conversation, celebration, and inspiration.
Kindness starts with how we treat ourselves. Explore how to nourish yourself when you're running on empty, and reconnect with the values that matter to you.
The way we treat the people we work alongside shapes the culture of every team. This session explores how kindness shows up between colleagues: across generations, backgrounds and points of view.
Kindness shapes every moment of care. Explore how to protect dignity, understand what lies beneath challenging behaviour, and choose words that make people feel heard.
Kindness isn't only personal. Explore how organisations, systems and leaders can make kindness the right thing to do, and how we all have a role to play in driving change.
World Kindness Day!
The arts have a real role in care settings, for the people receiving care and the people giving it. Music, storytelling, writing and performance can ease anxiety, open up connections, and give staff a moment to reset in the middle of a demanding shift. They're not extras; they're practical tools for kindness that anyone can use.
Get support from our digital kit which includes activity ideas, conversation starters, community engagement, communications and signage, or our physical kit which includes cards, posters, signs and bunting.
